Josiah Kimbler
My name is Josiah Kimbler, I’m a 24-year-old, first-generation graphic design student whose passion lies in creating something meaningful. I came to Central to try to make something of myself and my design work. Before being here, guidance was rare artistically, so this new field of exploration is exciting for me. I enjoy designing work that incites a reaction, not an overwhelming one, but enough so that you always feel touched by the work or involved with the process. I love conveying feelings, ideas, or moments in time within a body of work. If my art doesn’t cause you to think or feel anything then I’m not doing my job properly as a designer. My biggest philosophy when it comes to design is “Sketch it out.” Just like any exercise requires stretching, Design requires sketching to warm up and prepare yourself for making something amazing. My biggest joy is making important moments out of the little things, too many minor details go unnoticed, so I find it is my job, as a designer, to bring awareness to those tiny details.
